District Court in Honolulu Closed Monday, September 14
The Hawaiʻi State Judiciary announces that Honolulu District Court (Kauikeaouli Hale), located at 1111 Alakea Street, will be closed Monday, September 14, due to the loss of water and air conditioning in the building.
Hearings scheduled in courtroom 7C for Monday at Honolulu District Court for defendants who are in custody, as well as scheduled preliminary hearings, will instead be held at Kāneʻohe District Court, located at 45-939 Poʻokela Street in Kāneʻohe.
Hearings and trials in Family Court criminal cases scheduled for Monday at Honolulu District Court will instead be held in Courtroom 5 on the third floor of Honolulu Circuit Court (Kaʻahumanu Hale), located at 777 Punchbowl Street in Honolulu.
Other hearings, trials, and court proceedings scheduled for Monday at Honolulu District Court will be rescheduled. Chief Justice Vladimir P. Devens will issue an order to be posted here on the Judiciary website, extending the deadline for filing documents due at Kauikeaouli Hale on Monday until Tuesday, September 15.
