Attorney General Jackley Joins Bi-Partisan Coalition Demanding 9/11 Victims and Families Receive Frozen Taliban Funds

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announces he has joined 29 other State Attorneys General in filing a friend of the court brief at the United States Supreme Court on behalf of the victims and families of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks demanding they be awarded financial judgements from frozen Taliban funds.  

“Nothing will bring back the victims of the 9/11 attacks, but their families deserve help,” said Attorney General Jackley. “The Taliban funds of $3.5 billion are frozen and must be released to the loved ones.”

Other Attorney Generals who have joined the brief are from: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming.
